Xiaomi aims high with two electric SUVs that promise to shake up the premium segment

Xiaomi expands its EVs with the YU7 GT and YU9 SUVs, anticipating four launches in 2026 and top-tier performance.

Xiaomi accelerates in the EV market with two high-performance SUVs

Xiaomi is accelerating the expansion of its electric vehicle line, with flagships highlighting two SUVs at the core of its 2026 roadmap.

The YU7 GT appears without camouflage, showing off an aggressive aerodynamic design. According to an MIIT filing, the SUV is 100% electric, with a top speed of 300 km/h and an estimated price between 450,000 and 500,000 yuan. The debut is scheduled for the first half of 2026.

  • YU7 GT: dual motor, total power of 738 kW (990 hp), top speed of 300 km/h, acceleration from 0–100 km/h in about 2 s.
  • Estimated price: 450,000–500,000 yuan.

In parallel, spy shots point to Xiaomi's first large-size SUV with extended range — internal codename Kunlun — which may debut as the YU9. The format is comparable to the Li L9 from Li Auto and the D19 from Leapmotor, aimed at the family market.

The YU9 is expected to incorporate a battery above 70 kWh, offering a pure electric range between 400 and 500 km.

These moves strengthen the roadmap of four new or updated launches planned for 2026, according to the 36Kr report from December. Furthermore, Xiaomi released an official teaser suggesting a surprise tomorrow, after photos of an unreleased supercar concept surfaced in Spain yesterday. The manufacturer intends to deliver 550,000 vehicles in 2026, versus 411,837 deliveries in 2025.
