Hyundai recorded just over 84,000 vehicles sold in the US in March, a 3% drop compared to the same month in 2025. Even so, demand for electrified vehicles drove performance, with strong gains in hybrids and EVs.
IONIQ 5 breaks records again
The IONIQ 5 reached its second consecutive record month in 2026, with 4,425 units sold in March, up 13% compared to March 2025.
Electrified lineup boosts the quarter
The performance of the Sonata HEV (+150%), Elantra EV (+92%), and Santa Fe HEV (+31%) increased hybrid sales, marking a record March for the category.
First quarter performance
For the quarter to date, IONIQ 5 sales rose 14% year-over-year, totaling 9,790 units. Total US sales stood at 205,388, a 1% YoY increase, marking the best 1st quarter in Hyundai's history.
Two launches, one decline, and a confirmation
IONIQ 6 sales fell 75% in March to 829 units. Hyundai confirmed that the model will not return for the 2026 model year. Meanwhile, the IONIQ 9 totaled 905 units in March, bringing its 1st quarter total to 1,990.
Offers through March
During the period, there were up to $10,000 in total savings on all 2026 versions of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9, with offers ending on March 31st. Stay tuned for new promotions and local conditions.
