Subaru revela seu SUV elétrico mais potente com 420 cv: o que esperar para 2026

Subaru reveals its most powerful electric SUV with 420 hp: what to expect for 2026

Subaru is preparing the most powerful electric SUV, with 420 hp, possibly a three-row model, scheduled for launch in April 2026.

Subaru is about to expand its electric lineup with what could be the brand's most powerful electric SUV, equipped with 420 hp of power and scheduled for launch in April 2026. The model is expected to be a three-row SUV, expanding the lineup to four electric models in total.

To date, Subaru's electric family includes the Solterra, which received updates for 2026, in addition to the smaller Uncharted models and the larger Trailseeker SUV. The recently released teaser suggests a fourth electric SUV, confirming the announced power and maintaining the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which points to dual electric motors.

In the released images, the front lighting pattern and the illuminated Subaru logo are highlighted, without revealing many additional details about the final design.

The Trailseeker has 375 hp and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 4.4 seconds. Analysts say the new model could be close to four seconds, which represents a significant gain compared to the brand's previous models, especially for a spacious SUV.

Probable Three-Row SUV

Although Subaru has not confirmed the exact size, the expected high performance, combined with the presence of three smaller electric SUVs in the lineup, indicates that the next launch could be a three-row model. The company has already signaled the arrival of such an option this year.

Historically, Subaru's electric vehicles share platforms with Toyota models. The Trailseeker, for example, is the Subaru version of the Toyota bZ Woodland. In this context, it is plausible to estimate that the new three-row model could occupy a space similar to an electric Highlander, although the 2027 Highlander offers up to 338 hp — still well below the 420 hp expected for the next Subaru.

The official presentation is scheduled for the New York International Auto Show on April 1, 2026.

What this means for the market

Until recently, three-row electric SUV options were limited, with models like the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9. With the possible launch of the electric Toyota Highlander and the new Subaru, the category is set to gain more options for families seeking space and zero emissions.

Regardless of whether the model is three-row or not, the expansion of Subaru's EV lineup comes at a time when gasoline prices have been rising, stimulating interest in electric vehicles. With four electric SUVs, Subaru is well-positioned to capitalize on current demand.
