April 2026 promises novelties in India: Taigun Facelift, Ebella, Majestor, electric CLA, and Tekton arrive with revamped prices, technology, and design.
April 2026 promises to be decisive for the Indian automotive industry, with several novelties being announced or revealed among mass-market models and premium options, including long-range electric vehicles.
Below, see the five models confirmed for the month and what to expect from each.
Taigun Facelift
The Volkswagen Taigun will receive its facelift on April 9, marking the first major update since its launch in the Indian market in 2021. Changes are expected to include exterior revisions and an updated feature list, with rumors of rear seats with massage function. Engine options remain the same — 1.0-liter TSI and 1.5-liter TSI — and the 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission, which debuted in the Kushaq facelift, will possibly arrive for the 1.0-L.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella
The Ebella marks Toyota's entry into the mass-market electric SUV space in India, essentially being a rebadge of the Maruti Suzuki eVitara. The electric SUV offers a range of up to 543 km with a 61 kWh battery, with a smaller 49 kWh option. Toyota may also offer Battery-as-a-Service alongside the traditional ownership model. Prices are expected to be slightly above the eVitara.
MG Majestor
The Majestor is positioned as MG's D-Segment flagship in the Indian market, above the Gloster. The price reveal is scheduled for April, with deliveries expected in May. The engine is a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel with 213 hp and 478 Nm of torque. Available in 2WD and 4WD versions, the latter offers terrain modes and triple-locking differentials.
Mercedes-Benz CLA
Mercedes-Benz will launch the new generation of the CLA in India in April 2026. The electric CLA features a high-performance unit with a WLTP range of up to 792 km at the top (CLA 250+ Long Range). The 800V architecture supports fast charging of up to 240 kW, allowing for the recovery of up to 400 km of range in about 20 minutes. Prices are expected to be between ₹55 lakh and ₹59 lakh, ex-showroom.
Nissan Tekton
Nissan is expected to introduce the Tekton, a new C-SUV for the Indian market, based on the new generation of the Renault Duster. It shares a platform and powertrain options with the Duster but differentiates itself through design and a more premium interior. Prices are expected to be disclosed only in the second half of 2026.
