Bentley advances on its second SUV, now 100% electric, using the Premium Platform Electric and bringing Cayenne Electric technology to a model smaller than the Bentayga.
Bentley is developing its second SUV, now intended for the 100% electric market. The model, until now known as the Urban SUV, should be smaller than the Bentayga and will be born with the luxury signature that the brand promises to maintain across the entire line.
The manufacturer has already made it clear that this electric SUV will use the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) base seen in the Porsche Cayenne Electric, which should bring the Bentley closer to technologies shared with its German counterpart.
What we know about the Urban SUV
- It will be 100% electric, smaller than the Bentayga.
- It will employ the Premium Platform Electric base, sharing technical DNA with the Cayenne Electric.
- Estimates point to power around 600 hp for the entry-level version, with the possibility of a high-performance version, still without official confirmation.
- Ultra-fast DC charging, capable of adding 100 miles (approx. 160 km) of range in just seven minutes.
- The launch is in the development stage, with a production name yet to be defined.
Interior and technology
- The cabin should feature a curved central screen, similar to that of the Cayenne Electric, accompanied by a distinct set of digital instruments.
- Bentley's electric SUV will include the same multi-function stalks seen in the Audi Q3. On the left panel, indicators, wipers, and headlights are on the stalk; on the right side is the stalk housing the transmission.
Prototype design and what to expect
Several prototypes have been spotted undergoing testing, and for the first time, images have emerged with dark camouflage marking the visual of the Urban SUV. A prominent front LED bar, headlights with multiple elements, and thin taillights barely visible under the temporary covering are noticeable.
Internally, the combination of cabin technology typical of the Cayenne Electric and the stalk set from the Q3 suggests a user interface focused on ergonomics and connectivity, maintaining the focus on high-level electric performance.
In summary, Bentley's Urban SUV emerges as a key piece for expanding the brand's electric portfolio, maintaining the luxury DNA and the promise of authentic performance in a size compact compared to the Bentayga.
