BMW anticipates the 2027 7 Series with the Neue Klasse architecture, keeping the iconic kidney grille and bringing technology from the iX3. Find out what changes.
Neue Klasse arrives at the i7 and promises changes for 2027
Before the world debut, BMW showed a glimpse of the new 2027 7 Series, marking the use of the Neue Klasse architecture in its electric models.
The brand is preparing a product offensive with 40 new or updated models by the end of 2027, starting with the iX3 this spring.
Design and technology: what to expect from the 2027 i7
The 7 Series will maintain the iconic wide kidney grille, while the iX3 adopts a smaller, vertical grille. The new architecture does not completely alter the exterior of the 7 Series, but the interior may inherit technology from the iX3, including the Panoramic Vision screen that extends across the width of the dashboard.
When the update arrives
The flagship sedan, including the electric i7, will receive a mid-cycle refresh for the 2027 model year, before an all-new model the following year that should adopt more elements from the Neue Klasse.
The 2027 i7 is expected to feature a larger battery and SiC inverters to improve range and efficiency.
