Tata aposta na tecnologia da Jaguar Land Rover no SUV Avinya X

Tata bets on Jaguar Land Rover technology for the Avinya X SUV

Tata uses JLR's EMA platform for the Avinya X, a luxury electric SUV with Range Rover technology at a competitive price.

We know that the Tata group owns Jaguar Land Rover, which has already been reflected in the launch of the Harrier, based on the Evoque platform. Now, with the still-awaited model, the partnership may gain more strength.

The Avinya X is pointed out as the first car in the Avinya line, a luxury electric SUV that would sit at the top of the Tata range. According to available information, it should be strongly influenced by JLR technology and arrive using its platform.

Avinya X — EMA Platform and Partnership

The Avinya X will use JLR's Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA). The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for an Engineering Service Agreement (ESA) with the goal of producing the Avinya vehicles.

This platform was created by JLR to accommodate its future electric SUVs. The Avinya X is expected to use the same battery options as future JLR EVs. With the Avinya X, you could have a luxury SUV with the dynamics of a Range Rover, even more so with Tata's aggressive pricing policy.

Expected Features

  • Interior reminiscent of the Range Rover, with a minimalist dashboard and tilted screen
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • 540-degree view with camera
  • Level 2+ ADAS with ventilated front seats, with massage and memory
  • High-quality materials in the cabin

Price and Production

Although it won't be cheap, the Avinya X would be more affordable when compared to Range Rovers and Jaguars, with an estimated price between Rs 30 lakhs and Rs 40 lakhs.

Tata has started the production of JLR vehicles at its new facility in Panapakkam, Tamil Nadu, where the Avinya X models are also expected to be manufactured.

Previously, Tata faced difficulties with component supply for the Avinya X and JLR models; with the start of production at the new plant, signs look positive for the Avinya.

The launch of Tata's most ambitious project should not be delayed: the first car in the Avinya line is expected to launch this year.
