Zenobē acquires Revolv to accelerate the electrification of commercial fleets in the US, taking over 13 customer sites and over 100 heavy vehicles in California.
What happened
Zenobē, a global provider of electric fleet and battery solutions, announced the acquisition of Revolv to accelerate the electrification of commercial fleets in the US.
The transaction is seen as a sign of the growing opportunity for commercial vehicle electrification in North America, with the Zero Emission Truck (ZET) market already having 59,000 units in operation in the US. California, where Revolv is based, accounts for over 10,600 ZETs, according to an update from CALSTART Market Update.
What changes in practice
- 13 customer sites will now integrate with Zenobē
- over 100 heavy vehicles in California under Zenobē's management
Zenobē already had a presence in the US, with previous operations in school transportation and public transit, in addition to supporting several electric fleets in operation. Globally, Zenobē already supports 3,400 vehicles.
Andreas Lips, President of Zenobē for North America, stated: Revolv offers an end-to-end fleet electrification model that complements Zenobē's global experience and growth planning in North America.
As commercial fleet electrification advances, operators seek partners who deliver vehicles, infrastructure, financing, and long-term battery performance under a single roof.
With the acquisition, Zenobē took control of 13 customer sites and over 100 heavy vehicles in California. The company will retain the Revolv team to ensure continuity of daily operations, promoting a frictionless transition.
Zenobē stated that it will support operators in the transition to EVs, leveraging its experience with school bus electrification in Massachusetts, New York, and Illinois, as well as a large-scale transit program in Ontario, Canada.
Priya Veerapen, Executive Director of Infracapital, said: Since 2020 supporting Zenobē, we are proud to expand the capacity for premium fleet electrification in North America.
The addition of Revolv represents an important milestone, strengthening the foundation for growth in this vital decarbonization sector.
Furthermore, Zenobē offers a battery-as-a-service solution, which is central to its electrification strategy, providing second-life solutions for school buses, transit, and commercial fleets.
Steven Meersman, founder and director of Zenobē, concluded: This is an opportunity to accelerate electrification at scale, by combining Revolv's fleet electrification platform with our unique experience and financing models.
We thank Revolv CEO, Scott Davidson, and the GDEV Management team for supporting Revolv from the beginning. Now we move to the next stage.
This move places Zenobē on a strategic growth path in North America, reinforcing the integrated offering of vehicles, infrastructure, and financing for commercial fleets.
