Xpeng X9 2026 Arrives in China with Rear Steering and Advanced AI

Xpeng introduced the update for the X9, the electric minivan, now featuring rear-wheel steering, 2,250 TOPS computing power, and the 800V high-voltage system, already available in the Chinese market. The price range is between 309,800 and 369,800 yuan.

The X9, measuring 5,316 mm long, 1,988 mm wide, and 1,785 mm high, is 23 mm longer than the previous generation. The wheelbase remains at 3,160 mm, preserving the interior space and the electric propulsion that defines the model.

The RoboFace design is present, with elegant contours, a floating roof, and striking dual headlights, consolidating the Xpeng line's visual identity.

Interior, Screen, and Technology

In the cabin, the X9 2026 displays two curved screens: a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 17.3-inch floating infotainment panel. The stalk is installed on the steering column, and the cabin features two wireless charging pads and two cup holders. The vehicle comes standard with seven seats (2+2+3).

There is also a 21.4-inch ceiling screen panel and second-row seats with zero-gravity mode, providing top-tier comfort for passengers. The infotainment system runs AIOS 6.0, with AI charging recommendations and voice commands. Interior options come in three tones: Rose, Coffee, and Gray.

Performance, AI, and Driving Assistance

The AI architecture uses three Turing chips with a combined power of 2,250 TOPS and the second generation of VLA, enabling autonomous parking and the NOA (Navigate On Autopilot) feature, even on rural roads. The vehicle can avoid potholes and offer emergency steering support up to 130 km/h.

Motor, Batteries, and Range

The X9 2026 adopts an 800V high-voltage system, air suspension with two chambers, and rear-wheel steering. The entry-level version uses a front electric motor with 235 kW (315 hp), and the 4WD variant reaches 370 kW (496 hp).

Battery options include a 94.8 kWh LFP pack and a 110 kWh ternary NMC battery. The CLTC range is between 650 and 750 kilometers.

New EREV Ultra SE Variant

Simultaneously, Xpeng revealed the X9 EREV Ultra SE version, with a single rear motor of 210 kW (282 hp) powered by a 63.3 kWh LFP battery.
