GV90: the debut of an electric flagship with Connect W

The GV90, Genesis's ultra-luxury electric SUV, will arrive in 2026 and will feature the Connect W system for the first time, the brand's technological hub.

Genesis also confirmed ambitious plans for the year: eight new models in the pipeline, marking a return to growth after a hiatus in launches.

How Connect W works

Connect W is expected to be based on Hyundai's Pleos OS, an ecosystem that integrates infotainment, vehicle operating system, and cloud infrastructure, paving the way for features like autonomous driving, assistance AI, and real-time route planning, with a smartphone-style interface.

Progress and visibility

Genesis celebrated its 10th anniversary, signaling that the next decade will bring more models and developing software, with the GV90 positioned as the electric flagship.

Price, versions, and launch

Camouflaged prototypes of the GV90 have been spotted testing in the US, Europe, and Korea. There are at least two concepts: a premium model with coach doors and a traditional version.

The probable platform is Hyundai's eM, with estimates of up to a 50% improvement in range compared to current EVs with E-GMP.

In the Korean market, the price of the premium model could reach around 300 million won (approximately US$ 200 thousand), while in the US, the base is estimated at US$ 100 thousand, with top-of-the-line options reaching US$ 200 thousand.

Production note

Although originally scheduled to begin production this year, mass production of the GV90 has been postponed to June 2026, according to industry reports.

According to the R&D executive, future Genesis flagships should incorporate even more advanced digital technologies, expanding the sector's technological scope.
