Majestor Arrives on the Market: The Giant Among SUVs

The Majestor emerges as the latest large SUV from JSW MG Motor, promising leadership in space and features over the Gloster.

Impressive Design and Dimensions

  • Length: 5,046 mm
  • Width: 2,016 mm
  • Height: 1,870 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,950 mm

The Majestor intends to make its presence felt with proportions already superior to the D segment standard.

Variants and Seating Configuration

There are three variants available — Sharp and Savvy; and within the Savvy, there are 2WD and 4WD options.

High-Level Interior

The black cabin combines fine leather with an elegant console. The front seats are ventilated and feature a massage function. The driver has 12-way position memory, and the passenger has 8-way adjustment, with options to adjust for 6 or 7 seats.

The package includes a panoramic roof, tri-zone air conditioning, dual 12.3-inch displays, wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a JBL sound system with 12 speakers, dual wireless chargers, a 220 V socket, and iSMART connectivity with over 75 features.

Safety and Driver Assistance

The Majestor comes with Level 2 ADAS for assisted steering, braking, and acceleration. The safety package includes a 360-degree camera, ESP, ABS, EBD, TCS, and RMI.

Performance and Off-Road Capabilities

The engine is a 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel, producing 215 hp and 478.5 Nm. The eight-speed automatic transmission is available in both 2WD and the advanced 4WD, which offers 10 off-road modes.

In automatic mode, the system switches between 2WD for daily use and 4WD when traction is compromised, seeking economy for daily use and power when necessary. The setup also includes front, rear, and center locking differentials, Crawl Control, 219 mm of ground clearance, and the ability to wade through 810 mm of water.

Market, Launch, and Competitors

During the presentation, there was no off-road driving for the press, only a passenger seat demonstration on a challenging track. In the Indian market, the Majestor is expected to compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, and VW Tayron, with the launch scheduled for April and pre-orders already open. The price has not yet been disclosed.

Conclusion

With generous space, technological features, and the ability to tackle rough terrain, the Majestor seeks to consolidate a prominent position in a highly competitive segment.
