Tata Motors has raised the bar in the electric segment with the Punch EV facelift, offering two battery options, a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program, and faster charging. The entry price is ₹9.69 lakh and can go up to ₹12.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Furthermore, BaaS starts from ₹6.49 lakh, with a battery subscription of ₹2.6 per km.
In the facelift, the Punch EV brings two battery options: 30 kWh and 40 kWh. The 40 kWh version boasts an ARAI range of 468 km and, in practice, around 355 km per charge. With the new battery, fast DC charging reaches 65 kW, going from 20% to 80% in just 26 minutes. In practice, this charger can add up to 135 km of range in 15 minutes.
Besides DC, there are AC charging options with 7.2 kW (wall charger) and 3.3 kW (domestic charger). The motor set is 95 kW (127 hp), with torque exceeding 2,000 Nm. In terms of performance, the Punch EV facelift accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 9 seconds.

The Citroën eC3 is pointed out as the closest rival in price, size, and specifications. The eC3 ranges between ₹12.90 lakh and ₹13.41 lakh (ex-showroom), featuring a 29.2 kWh battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering approximately 56 bhp and 143 Nm. The declared range is around 320 km per charge, with support for AC and DC charging.
Tata Nexon EV
The Nexon EV, positioned above the Punch in the Tata lineup, has a price range between ₹12.49 lakh and ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). MG Windsor EV
The MG Windsor EV, the 2025 market leader, is two segments above the Punch, priced between ₹14 lakh and ₹18.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It uses a 38 kWh LFP battery with a 134 bhp and 200 Nm motor, providing about 331 km of range. Larger versions with 52.9 kWh increase the range to approximately 449 km, maintaining similar power output.
